NSF names third PAWR Wireless Research Platform in North Carolina’s Research Triangle (https://advancedwireless.org/nsf-names-third-pawr-wireless-research-platform-in-north-carolinas-research-triangle/).

The Aerial Experimentation and Research Platform for Advanced Wireless – or AERPAW (https://aerpaw.org) – will power research on wireless communications for unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and ground mobility at a regional scale.

PAWR released an RFP (https://advancedwireless.org/apply/) for a fourth and final PAWR testbed with a focus on rural broadband. Letters of intent to apply are due on October 25, and full proposals are due December 13.

The Federal Communications Commission also announced that it is naming PAWR testbeds in Salt Lake City and the West Harlem neighborhood of New York City as the first-ever Innovation Zones (https://advancedwireless.org/pawr-testbeds-to-host-fccs-first-spectrum-innovation-zones-in-salt-lake-city-utah-and-west-harlem-in-new-york-city/) for experimental spectrum research. The announcement brings significant new spectrum assets to the PAWR platforms.
